RBC will be hosting a tournament in Roseburg for the first time January 18/19, 2025!
Roseburg Basketball Club (RBC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded with the mission to give Roseburg-area youth from all socioeconomic backgrounds the opportunity to play basketball at a competitive level across the state. By doing so, we believe these youth will develop the skills and experiences to help them become the future leaders in our community. To learn more about RBC, click here.
A founding goal of RBC is to create a pipeline of talented basketball players who intend to play their high school basketball at Roseburg High School. We know there are players who do not live in Roseburg who might be interested in participating with RBC. Priority for RBC team spots will be given to players who reside in the Roseburg School District and intend to play basketball at RHS. In the event there are open spots not filled by Roseburg area players, those open spots may be filled by athletes from outside Roseburg. Those cases will be considered by the Board of Directors on a case-by-case basis.
The participation fee for the 2024/25 season is $275. This fee includes all tournament fees and a shooting shirt that each player will get to keep, as well as a uniform that must be returned at the end of the season. It does not include other costs, such as transportation, lodging, etc.
Financial assistance may be available if the $275 participation fee creates a financial barrier to participation. If your child is selected for a team and you feel like the participation fee might be a financial barrier to their participation, e-mail info@roseburgbasketballclub.org.
RBC was established with the intention of supplementing other local basketball opportunities, and specifically not compete at other school-based leagues. Due to school-based basketball seasons and schedules, RBC's seasons will vary by grade and be different for the boys and girls teams.
4th, 5th and 6th grades (boys and girls) will likely start playing in November and play through February.
7th/8th grade boys play their school season before Christmas, so will have their RBC season starting in January and going until March
7th/8th grade girls play their school season after Christmas, so their RBC season will be November and December. 7th/8th grade girls playing on school teams will likely also play some RBC in January and February because we hope to have the opportunity to play in the state tournament at the end of February.
We expect that all games and tournaments will take place in Oregon, likely as far north as Salem and as far south as Medford. It is expected that the season will include opportunities to play in single-day and multi-day tournaments.
Teams are anticipated to practice 2-3 times a week and practices will take place in the evenings at various Roseburg schools.
